Mission Statement (Constitution of Indian Hills Baptist Church (II),
Our goal is to unify the local church in Spirit and Truth through the right understanding and application of God's Word, and thus enable it to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ locally and beyond through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Purpose (Constitution of Indian Hills Baptist Church, III)
To be a dynamic spiritual organism empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community and throughout the world.
To be a worshiping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person, and responding in obedience to His leadership.
To experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers.
To help people experience a growing knowledge of God and man.
To be a church which ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and the world in Jesus’ name.
To be a church whose purpose is to be Christ-like in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Christ.
Church Covenant (Constitution of Indian Hills Baptist Church, IV)
Believing in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, we do individually and collectively covenant with God and with one another to live in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in a manner that shows God’s love to all we meet. Now therefore:
Having experienced the love and mercy of God in our life, we do covenant to have this same love and mercy as the guiding principle of all our relationships with members of the congregation, and with those we meet in our daily life and work.
Walking in fellowship with Jesus Christ, we covenant to engage in personal devotions. We will faithfully participate in worship experiences provided by the congregation. We recognize our need to grow in knowledge of God and to faithfully participate in opportunities of Christian development.
Living in Christ, we covenant to present our Christian experience in our community and world. We acknowledge that all of our talents and possessions are from God, and we will seek His guidance in their use. We commit to share our material resources and talents for the support of the congregation, its ministries, and mission opportunities.
Recognizing that God created the family, even before the church, we covenant to support and develop our family relationships in love, prayer, instruction and example.
Believing that Christ lives in us, we present our lives and beings as a living witness. We recognize the Christian responsibility to glorify Christ in our personal and moral conduct.
We believe that a congregational relationship is essential to our Christian life. Therefore, whenever conditions require us to move, we covenant to seek, join, and participate in a congregation who practices the principles of this covenant.
