IHBC is excited to become…

It’s time to ARISE! In Biblical times, names were given with intentional meaning, often saying something about that person’s character or their situation.

For example, King David’s name means “beloved”, and he was known as the man after God’s own heart.

Abram and Sarai pulled up stakes and left home, travelling to a land they’d never seen before. God changed their names when He made a covenant concerning their future.

God called Jacob to be Israel. Jesus gave Simon the name Peter. After his conversion Saul was called Paul.

For many years our church’s name has been tied to our past. Named for a previous location in a different time.

Today we are excited to take a name that represents the work God is calling US to NOW. We are ready to ARISE!

Merry Christmas!!!

The Christmas season is upon us and we believe in celebrating Jesus’ birth to the fullest!  All December we’ll be immersed in Christmas spirit, preaching Christ’s birth, and singing Christmas songs every Sunday at 11 a.m.

We’ll also have several events to gather and celebrate together.  On 12/4 we kick off the Christmas season at 6:00 pm by lighting our 25-foot outdoor tree and heading out for some neighborhood caroling.  A DIY Sign Workshop will take place on 12/7.  Women Together is having Christmas Cookie Exchange Party 12/9.  The Children’s Choir will perform Christmas songs in church on 12/15.  And our annual Christmas Fest will take place on the evening of 12/20.   We’ll culminate our celebration with a special Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5:00 pm on 12/24!  To find out more about any of these events, visit our Facebook page or email chad.hussey@ihbcsilvercity.org.

Brave Ministry “Stripped” Conference

IHBC was blessed to host the BRAVE Ministry’s Women’s Conference, inviting ladies from all around to come together to worship, study their mental wellbeing, deepen their connection to each other, and expand their identity in Christ!

Brave Ministry exists to connect with isolated women, bringing them relationship and tools to increase their mental wellness integrated with the hope that comes through Christ.

The Stripped Women’s Conference was a two-day time of worship with wonderful music, sound teaching, and inclusive fellowship.

Dylan, Xavier, and Brooklyn making their public profession of faith in Jesus Christ through baptism on July 7, 2019, with Indian Hills Baptist Church at Bill Evans Lake.  What a blessing to see God’s work in these precious kids!

Congratulations, guys! “Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. . . you, who were dead in your trespasses . . . God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.” – Colossians 2:12-14

ROAR VBS 2019!

What an absolutely amazing week!!! God brought over 140 kids through our doors, led numerous kids to take the first step in their walk with Christ, and provided so many people to give generously of their time and service to make it all happen. We were so blessed by these kids and the opportunity to meet our neighbors! As we learned about the goodness of God, we also saw His goodness on display. And His goodness is shown most clearly in the sacrificial work of His Son, Jesus!!! Thank you Lord! When life is wild…God is SO GOOD!!! #ihbcloveskids #iloveihbc
